SLA Social

Our first SLA social will be held also on May 18th at 4:00pm. This social will be held at the Red Raven. If you would like to bring an appetizer that would be great! This is a great time to get to know your neighbors on the lake.

Why We Treat for Curly Leaf Pondweed

Every Spring, Serpent Lake is treated with Aquathol K to control the invasive species called Curly Leaf Pondweed. It is the largest expense of the Serpent Lake Association. We spend between $15,000 to $20,000 annually to treat up to the permitted 50 acres. Our major funding source that is necessary to treat Curly Leaf is from our association members. One Twin Cities lake is now facing drastic measures to deal with the infestation of Curly Leaf. Read the article below for more information:

Normandale Lake Article

Obviously, Serpent Lake has much different characteristics than Normandale. However, Curly Leaf Pondweed needs our attention. Please consider an additional donation to the Serpent Lake Preservation Fund. The Lake Association Board tries to maintain funding for the current year of treatment, plus one additional year. See the fact sheet below about Curly Leaf:

If you would like to make an additional donation, click on the “Donate Now” link at the top of the website. You can also send it to the association mailing address:
